Billing

Usage is metered per organization. Your plan determines whether billing happens at all and how it’s charged.

Free

The Free plan never touches Stripe. There’s no card and no invoice — you’re simply capped at the Free plan’s monthly request allowance (see Plans & limits).

Solo & Firm

  • Paid plans bill through Stripe.
  • Trials (where offered — Solo has a 14-day trial) run first, then the plan begins billing.
  • Manage your card, seats, and invoices in the Stripe billing portal, opened from /dashboard/billing.
  • Firm is billed per seat with a 5-seat minimum; changing the seat count adjusts both your bill and your request cap.

Metered overage (opt-in)

By default, paid organizations are hard-blocked once their included monthly allowance is exhausted. Solo and Firm org owners can opt into metered overage from /dashboard/billing.

  • Overage is off by default and is available on Solo and Firm only — the Free plan is not eligible.
  • When overage is enabled, calls beyond the included allowance are billed at your plan’s per-call overage rate, charged through Stripe at the end of each billing cycle.
  • The org owner sets a monthly spending cap (in dollars) at the time they enable overage. Once that cap’s worth of overage is reached, calls block again until the next billing cycle.
  • For paid plans, both the included allowance and the overage cap reset on the Stripe billing cycle (the period running from your subscription’s current_period_start to current_period_end). The Free plan resets on the 1st of the calendar month UTC.

You can update or disable overage at any time. Disabling it immediately restores the hard-block behavior; any overage already accrued in the current period will still appear on that period’s invoice.

Bring-your-own-credentials sources like PACER are billed directly by the upstream to your own account — they are never on your PocketPart invoice. See PACER credentials.
